CASE 1 – What really happened
The above case was based largely on a 2017 paper published by Timmermans et al. entitled Social inhibition and emotional distress in patients with coronary artery disease: The Type D personality construct (Journal of Health Psychology 2017).
In this case, the authors and/or the non-accredited institutional psychology ethics committee concluded that this research was not a WMO
study, as the research subjects were simply asked to complete a modest questionnaire.
