Poll: Injury insurance or compensation fund for Dutch research subjects
Do you think that a compensation fund managed by the government will lead to a better compensation system for research subjects in comparison to the current injury Insurance run by insurance companies? Explain your opinion briefly by emphasizing the pros and cons of the system of your choice.
Note: In 2015 the Dutch Compulsory Insurance Decree was changed. Since then the sponsor is responsible for a single research subject insurance policy which covers the research subjects in all participating centres in a multicentre trial in the Netherlands. In case of a commercial clinical trial the industry is the sponsor. In case of an investigator-initiated clinical trial the organising university medical centre or hospital is the sponsor.
