Technical
Does this online environment work with any browser and device?
For an optimal learning experience, we advise you to use the latest version of any modern browser. For instance: Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari (10 and up) or Internet Explorer (8 and up). We recommend using a desktop or laptop computer.
Is my profile publicly visible ?
Negative. Only your classmates can view your name, organization and e-mail address.
Where can I find my invoice?
When you completed your purchase we sent you a confirmation email with a pdf attached to it. In case you lost it, you will find a copy under 'My account'> 'Orders'.

What is the schedule for online courses?
When a paid online course starts, each following Monday a new 'week' of lessons and course content becomes available to the students following that course. For example: on April 3rd week 1 becomes available, on April 10th week 2 becomes available, etcetera, until the course is completed. Students are urged and challenged to follow the pace of the classroom. Free courses are fully available to follow at your own pace.
What's the difference between subjects, modules and courses?
Typically any Futurelab module consists of an online and an on-campus course. All courses cover multiple topics.
Will I receive a certificate upon successfully completing an online course?
But of course! Each online course comes with its very own Futurelab certificate. You will need to pass the online exam to obtain it.
Each online course has an online exam. How does that work?
With TestReach as our partner, Futurelab has Europe's best in online proctoring handling examination. The online exam takes place in a dedicated and secure online environment, where participants are assisted and monitored by trained supervisors.
Can I take an online course as a stand-alone course?
Yes you can. However, if you want to advance to the on-campus course, taking the online course and passing the online exam are mandatory.
Do you need a Master's degree to take your courses?
Yes, that's correct. Our blended program focusses specifically on offering courses to post-master biomedical professionals.
Is Futurelab part of Janssen Pharmaceutical?
Negative. Paul Janssen Futurelab Leiden is an initiative of the Leiden University Medical Center. It has no official ties with Janssen Pharmaceutical.
